The Animal Club

‘Those who know better, do better.’ Maya Angelou. The York High Animal club is a group of dedicated animal lovers who work to educate themselves and others about animal related issues. We are involved in an education program in local primary schools. We also invite guest speakers to teach us about animals and issues that affect them. We raise money for local animal welfare organisations like the Barnyard donkey sanctuary, the SPCA and PDSA.

The animal club kick started 2015 by presenting a three week course at St Paul’s primary school. The course covered:

Week 1:  Animal needs

Week 2: Animal illnesses and treatment

Week 3:  The importance of sterilisation and amazing animal facts

Many of the animal club members are trained as SPCA cadets which qualifies them to pass on their knowledge about animals.
