Brooke May, matriculated in 2010. Brooke grew up as part of the York Family in a very literal sense; her Gran, Thelma Farrell was in the very first staff team that founded York and her mom “Sandy Ma’am” (Sandy Witteveen), in her time on staff became the deputy principal.
After matriculating went on to study law at Stellenbosch, after graduating she began working for NPOs in impoverished areas Cape Town. This is where she was reminded of her love for education and then completed her PGCE to become a teacher. She is now currently on staff at York, where she is impacting the lives of future Yorkies. Be it in the classroom, on the hockey field or in a grade head capacity. The family legacy continues.
